Short answer: the Tesla Model 3 and Model Y cabin is deliberately minimal: one big centre touchscreen, no gauges behind the wheel, wireless charging pads and USB-C ports. That changes what is worth adding. Skip phone mounts and chargers the car already covers, and add the things a minimal cabin leaves out: eye-level navigation, a welcome light, a little glow and somewhere for loose things to go.

What the Model 3 cabin already has
According to Tesla and recent reviews of the 2024 Model 3 update ("Highland"), the car has a 15.4-inch centre touchscreen, no separate instrument display and no head-up display, two wireless phone charging pads, USB-C ports up front and in the rear console, and an 8-inch rear touchscreen. Older cars and the Model Y differ in detail, so check your own car, especially which USB port types you have.
Mods that fill the gaps
Every product below is universal fit, not made specifically for this car. Check the sizes on each product page against your car before you order.
Phone HUD display, $24.99
The Model 3 has no separate driver display and no head-up display, so speed and navigation live on the centre touchscreen. A phone-reflection HUD puts your phone's navigation at eye level instead. It needs a navigation app with a HUD or mirror mode, and works best from dusk onwards.
Wireless door projector lights, 2 pack, $21.99
A welcome light on the ground when you open the door. Battery powered, stuck under the door edge with 3M tape and switched by a small magnet on the frame, so nothing touches the car's electronics.
LED cup holder mats, from $16.99
USB rechargeable, so they do not need a free port while in use. The Highland's ports are USB-C, so charge them with a USB-C adapter or at home. Measure your cup holders: the mats are 68 mm.
Seat gap filler strips, $13.99
Stops phones, key cards and coins dropping beside the seat. Four colours, including black and beige to suit a light or dark interior.
Collapsible trunk organiser, $29.99
Three compartments with reinforced walls, folds flat when you need the whole space back.
What we would not buy for a Tesla
- Another phone charger: the wireless pads already do this.
- A star projector that needs USB-A: the main ports are USB-C, so you would need an adapter.
- Anything that sits on the dash in front of the screen and blocks it.

Does a phone HUD work in a Tesla?
It does not connect to the car at all: your phone lies in the cradle and its screen reflects off the panel. Any dash it can stand on works, and you need a navigation app with a HUD or mirror mode.
Can I plug USB gadgets into a Model 3?
The newer Model 3 has USB-C ports up front and in the rear console; Tesla also lists a USB-A port in the glovebox meant for a dashcam drive. Use a USB-C adapter for USB-A gadgets.
Will the door projectors show a Tesla logo?
No. Each light projects one fixed image, not a car logo.
