What "10 minutes" really means
Every light here either plugs in or sits in place. The fibre kits are the only ones with a little fitting: you tuck the fibre line into the seam along the dash or doors with a bank card, then trim the end. If a bank card slides a few millimetres into your trim seams, the fibre will go in. Nothing on this list is spliced into the car's wiring.
Fibre optic lines: the built-in look
A fibre line gives a thin, even line of light along the trim, like the ambient lighting in premium cars. Choose by power:
- 12V fibre optic ambient kit ($39.99): plugs into the 12V socket, 4 m of fibre over 4 light lines, RGB and music sync in a Bluetooth app. About 10 minutes to fit.
- USB fibre optic kit, 64 colours (from $24.99): plugs into a USB port, with app control and sound sync. Comes in several lengths if you want longer runs, and it leaves the 12V socket free for a charger.
Plug-in strips and lamps: done in two minutes
- Dual-colour moving LED strip ($15.99): USB powered, sits along the dash or console.
- Centre console neon lamp (from $22.99): a USB colour-changing glow for the console.
- RGB footwell kit (from $59.99): USB powered lights for the footwells, with app control and sound sync.
Small glows: cup holders and roof
- LED cup holder mats (from $16.99): 68 mm acrylic mats, USB rechargeable, seven colours. Drop them in and you are done.
- USB star projector ($17.99): a red starfield on the roof from a 360° head on a 26 cm gooseneck. It is a projector, not a fibre optic star headliner.
Before you buy
- Check your ports. Count your USB ports and 12V sockets, and note whether your USB ports are USB-A or USB-C.
- Keep it dim while driving. Interior lighting rules vary by country. Our guide on whether interior LED lights are legal covers the basics.
- Worried about the battery? Most sockets switch off with the ignition. See do LED lights drain a car battery.

Do I need tools?
No. The fibre kits tuck into trim seams with a bank card. Everything else plugs in or sits in place.
USB or 12V?
USB leaves the 12V socket free for a charger. The 12V fibre kit uses the socket and has its own Bluetooth controller. Check which ports your car has first.
Will it fit my car?
Almost all of these are universal. If you are not sure, email support@autogearia.com with your car model.
