Questions people ask before buying
Will my phone actually stick to it?
If your phone has magnets in the back it will — that covers MagSafe iPhones and any Qi2 or magnetic case. If your phone has no magnets, you'll need a thin stick-on metal plate between phone and case; they cost a couple of pounds anywhere. Worth checking before you order, because the mount holds metal, not plastic.
Where does it mount?
On the dashboard, using a 3M adhesive gel pad on the base. Clean and dry the spot first and give it a firm press — that's the whole install. It is not a vent clip, which is deliberate: vent mounts block your airflow and wobble every time you go over a bump.
Does a thick case stop it working?
Magnet strength falls off fast with distance, so a very thick case weakens the hold noticeably. Under about 3 mm you'll be fine. Above that, use a case with its own alignment magnets rather than relying on a plate buried under the plastic.
