Car Fiber Optic Ambient Light Kit – RGB, App and Music Sync, 12V Plug-In

Needs fitting
Not a star headliner.
This is a fibre-optic line that tucks into the dash and door seams — about ten minutes with an old bank card, nothing pierced and nothing near the roof lining.
If the picture in your head is a roof full of pinpoint stars, we do not sell one. Read the headliner guide before you buy that anywhere — there are curtain airbags behind most roof linings. Or get the effect with nothing to fit: the StarDrive USB projector or the Night Drive kit.

Your cabin gets a line of color that follows the dash, the doors and the footwells. Not a strip light stuck on top of the trim — a fiber-optic guide you tuck into the panel gap, so all anyone sees is the glow.
The controller plugs into your 12V socket. From there, three light-guide runs go wherever you push them: along the dash seam, down a door card, under the footwells. Trim each run to length, tuck it into the gap with the edge of a trim tool or an old bank card, and the cable disappears into the panel line.
- App control across the full RGB range — color, brightness and speed from your phone
- Music sync — the cabin moves with whatever's playing
- Tucks into the panel gap — nothing adhesive on show, nothing drilled, nothing cut
- Three runs, 4 m of fiber — enough for the dash, the center console and a footwell
- Each run cuts to length — follow the seam, trim the excess
- Runs off the 12V socket — no hard-wiring; unplug it and it's gone
- Four steps, about ten minutes — plug in, feed the guide into the fixture, tuck it into the gap, tighten the collar
Specs: 9 W · DC 12V · cigarette-lighter plug · full RGB · app control · music sync · 3 light-guide runs, 4 m fiber total · 335 g
Worth knowing before you order
This is ambient light, not illumination. It draws a glowing line along your trim at night. It will not light up the cabin, and in daylight you will barely notice it — that is the point, but it is worth being clear about.
It needs a panel gap to tuck into. Almost every car has one along the dash seam and down the door cards. A few tightly-molded interiors leave nothing to push into. Two minutes looking at your own dash before you order will tell you.
It occupies your 12V socket while it is running.
Rules on interior lighting while driving vary by country — keep it dim or off when you are moving. We went through what the statutes actually say.
Questions people ask before buying
Will it fit my car?
It is universal, not vehicle-specific. You are tucking a thin light guide into a panel seam and cutting it to whatever length that run needs, so there is no model list to check — only whether your trim has a gap to push into.
Does it go in the headliner?
No. This runs along the dash, doors and footwells at trim level. Nothing goes near the headliner, nothing is pierced and nothing is drilled. If you want stars on the ceiling instead, the StarDrive projector does that in ten seconds with no install at all.
Is there a remote?
No — this one is app-controlled. Color, brightness, speed and music sync all live in the phone app.
Can I really cut it?
Yes, and you are meant to. Run it along the seam, trim the excess, tuck the end back into the gap.
Will it drain my battery?
It is 9 W off the 12V socket, and on most cars that socket dies with the ignition. We ran the actual numbers if you want them.
Goes well with: StarDrive roof projector · NeonLine if you want one fixed color for less

Why we picked it
A light guide that tucks into the panel gap, not a strip stuck on top of the trim. The fiber disappears into the seam and all anyone sees is the line of color, which is why it reads as factory ambient lighting rather than an add-on.
Worth knowing
This is ambient light, not illumination: a glowing line along the trim at night, close to invisible in daylight. It needs a panel gap to tuck into, and it occupies your 12V socket while it runs. About ten minutes to fit, no tools beyond an old bank card.
